OK it's ON!!! We are running a 30 day paleo challenge at FTF starting Monday January 2nd. What the heck does that mean to you.. the participant??
(the picture below was designed by Coach Tara (the prize) Noble and you will find this on the blog she has created for this challenge at www.ftfpaleo.blogspot.com)
It means we will do before and after pictures- (See Coach Sean, Coach Tara or Honey Badger for pictures) These pictures will help to see the changes over the course of the 30 days.
It means we want your success and are here to help you. We will try to get our Paleo expert Ryan "Koshi" Murakoshi to put a nutrition seminar on (he will have DVD's of his seminar for sale VERY soon!!!! ) We will post more details soon... (We need a head count for those interested in this so we can give him a FIRM count.. the cost will be $10 for the seminar... this is the ONLY cost of this challenge and goes directly to Koshi for his time and expertise. This is an INCREDIBLE steal for the information he is giving!! let us know at the gym or at firstname.lastname@example.org before January 3rd as we are trying to set it up for the 7th right now... )
It means we would like you to keep track of how you are doing with food for 30 days.. We would like to see it at least onve per week (Check in with one of your very talented coaches to go over a quick run down of how it's going)
It means we would like to have a once per week gathering to "Support" our challenge group with a paleo putluck of sorts. If you can make it, Awesome... if not, no worries. Bring different paleo recipes to try, different entree's, desserts, side dishes. Coach Tara and Coach Sean will take care of organizing these and they will be posted on the Paleo Support Group page.
It means CLEAN eating for 30 days and encouragement and support throughout. It's that time of year.. time to get involved in taking care of yourself. We all need a little encouragement and motivation at times.
OK FTF-ers. One of the direct quotes from CrossFit in the definition of fitness is to regularly try new sports. Well GUESS WHAT, We are bringing a NEW SPORT to FTF for you to try.
For two weeks beginning January 2nd, we will be hosting Zumba Classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 8-9 and Fridays from 7-8. We have it scheduled this way to not impact our CrossFit Classes throughout the week. We are looking forward to introducing this new sport and MANY OTHERS this year to FTF. Looking for a new way to see your athletic skills from CrossFit at work? This is an awesome way!
Here is an introduction to Zumba from Fatima Montellano who will be instructing/coaching/helping you dance your way to fitness.
What that Zumba program is all about, is partying and dancing yourself into shape. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow fitness routine that millions of people are trying and LOVING IT! Zumba was founded by Alberto "Beto" Perez, a fitness instructor from Colombia. He combined Latin music from international Artists like Shakira, Pitbull, and Daddy Yankee with Latin inspired moves that make you feel the music, instead of counting numerous repetitions. Zumba is so much fun, and becoming so popular that they now have it available on Wii, PS3, and Xbox. But nothings more fun than joining a class and feeling all the energy from everyone else and the instructor to keep you pumped up and trying your best.
Remember, A body in motion tends to stay in motion. So let's get moving!
After the two week trial period and based on response we will evaluate a continued program for our members! Yes even one of your coaches has Zumba'd and enjoyed it (It was horrible/funny to watch though... it's even rumored there are pictures)
